Why in the world would someone as sweet as Shirley freak you out?
Shit, she sure the hell freaks me out. It is like a super Chucky doll come to slaughter you with extreme freaky cutsie violence.

Sure, she was sickly sweet and irritatingly happy, but she doesn't freak me out. I just wanna say "g'way kid...you bother me.".

anyhoo.. she was annoying as hell. her speaking voice sounded like braying donkeys...

Actually, Shirley Temple freaked me out too, but then I read her autobiography. It was really good...and her speaking voice is much more modulated now.
I think the name of it is "Child Star"...check used bookstores out.
PS: She was a UN Ambassador at one time too...
